More daft laws

Netscrap has published another list of weird, daft and crazy laws on the statute books in the USA. A few examples:

In Vermont, USA, it is illegal for women to wear false teeth without the written permission of their husbands.

It's illegal to buy ice cream after 6 pm in Newark, NJ. unless you have a written note from your doctor.

In Kentucky, it is illegal to carry ice cream in your back pocket.

Mailing an entire building has been illegal in the US since 1916 when a man mailed a 40,000-ton brick house across Utah to avoid high freight rates.

In Texas it's legal for a chicken to have sex with you, but it's illegal to reciprocate.

French Lick Springs, Indiana once passed a law requiring all black cats to wear bells on Friday the 13th.

There's more at the link. Good for a laugh!

Now, for Texas legal scholars and law enforcement officers, a question: how the hell does one allow a chicken to have sex with you without reciprocating? I'd have thought reciprocation was one of the more fundamental physical processes involved!

Oh, Lawdog? Calling Lawdog . . .

In my hometown it is illegal to herd your livestock in a city park.

I had no idea that Lawdog was considered an expert on the topic of sex with chickens.

When I first moved here (Colorado) I was told that there was a statute specifically banning intercourse with an owl. The legislature cleans out the statute books annually, so it's doubtless long gone, but I bet there's a good story behind that one.
