Political correctness gone mad!

I'm furious to read of the latest antics of the politically correct establishment in England.

Army cadets have been left ‘bitterly disappointed’ after being banned from carrying rifles on a Remembrance Day parade - amid fears the weapons might 'upset' onlookers.

The young cadets have proudly marched with rifles for decades and around 100 had spent months fine-tuning the drill where they would showcase their skills.

But the cadets were left 'gutted' just days before the big event when military top brass cut the rifles from the display following complaints from members of the public.

They were warned the rifle display during the march in Plymouth, Devon, could be deemed as 'glamorising' weapons.

Cadets were left 'bitterly disappointed' by the late change, which organisers today branded 'political correctness gone mad'.

Basil Downing-Waite, chairman of the Federation of Plymouth and District Ex Services Associations, which organised the event, said: 'It's political correctness gone mad. I feel bitterly disappointed because it gives the young people a sense of responsibility.

‘They are delighted to do these displays.'

The Remembrance Day march is still due to go ahead, but without rifles.

There's more at the link.

Do the blithering idiots who made this decision have no clue whatsoever? These are cadets. Military cadets. The whole point of joining and/or belonging to military cadets is to prepare for a military career, or at least for limited military service. That's why they exist . . . and in the military, they're going to be using weapons as a fact of life. That's what armies do! So, since everybody knows the reason for the existence of military cadets, why on earth is it a problem for them to be seen with the tools of their future trade? Or would it be more politically - not to mention spiritually - correct for them to carry plows and pruning hooks instead, to symbolize the ultimate Biblical destiny of their weapons?

Sheesh . . .

I wonder what the blissninnies would have done if the cadets, in response, had simply refused to march?

Just what do they think that they are remembering? Bloody fools.

And on Remembrance Day!

The blissninnies must think our parents' generation won 20th century wars barehanded.

In our high school, built in 1957, there was a basement rifle range, funded by a special government grant because "they" knew that WW II had been won 12 years earlier by young soldiers with guns-and wanted to be prepared if it were ever necessary again.

On that range, I learned to shoot under the watchful eye of a former WW II Canadian Army range instructor.

Today it is used only to store the stage props for blissninnies' school plays.

I should stop being surprised at this sort of utter . . . foolishness . . . but they always manage to find new ways to cause me to ask, "What the *&$# are they smoking?"

I'm relatively sure we could invade and completely take over Once Great Britain without firing a shot now. All we have to do is bring our rifles to upset them. Additionally we can tell them that if they were to fight us, we would be terribly upset and offended. This should work very well except in the areas under Muslim control as they already use these tactics and would quickly call B.S. on us :)

Probably not a good idea though. I'm not sure exactly what we'd do with the place once we had it.
