Doofus Of The Day #428

Also courtesy of Rev. Paul (see the post below this one), we learn of one Gene Utley of Fairbanks, Alaska, who certainly qualifies as our latest Doofus Of The Day. The Fairbanks Daily News-Miner reports:

Alaska State Troopers didn’t have to do much work to come up with a suspect in the New Year’s Day theft of an ATV trailer.

His wallet was found in the snow next to where the trailer had been parked. And when they went to the address listed on the ID in the wallet, they found the trailer.

. . .

Utley’s mother was home at the time. She told the trooper she didn’t know where Utley was, or how the trailer got there, but that if it had been stolen she said Utley probably had something to do with it, according to charging documents.

There's more at the link.

Could he possibly have made it any easier for the police? And you've got to love his mother's comment . . . she sounds as if she's very, very tired of his antics!
