McLaren's P1 forges ahead

Sports car enthusiasts everywhere (including yours truly) are awaiting the arrival of McLaren's new P1 hybrid sports car, of which only 375 will be produced.  According to McLaren:

Top speed is electronically limited to 350 km/h (217 mph), with the 0-100 km/h standing start acceleration taking less than three seconds .The McLaren P1™ will power from rest to 200 km/h (124 mph) in less than seven seconds, and on to 300 km/h (186 mph) in less than 17 seconds – a full five seconds quicker than the McLaren F1.

There's more at the link.

Here's a publicity video from McLaren about testing the P1 on a snow course in Scandinavia.  Yes, I know it's basically an advertisement, but I still enjoyed it!

I daresay traffic cops almost everywhere are already setting up speed traps in anticipation . . .

If I can afford one of those, I could afford a traffic lawyer on retainer :)

"Officer Doe, can you prove your equipment is properly calibrated to handle 210mph?"
