Tim Scott, First District, So Carolina, and Rep. Alan West, 22nd District, Florida. Rep. Scott chose not to join the CBC because he said they were too divisive, and Rep. West did join, and is now threatening to leave, because of racist remarks made by the CBC.
Peter is probably correct in that everyone is elected from their community, bringing with them those special cultures. And, once getting on the Hill and joining the CBC and then bringing home the bacon, these black representatives take on not the mantle of elected servant, but the entitled elite. Just like the white representatives! But, the black members remain for eons for some reason.
Unfortunately, there is also a tendency to join the Socialist Party of America, but because the CBC is small, compared to so many white representatives, it now becomes more obvious. However, the goal is the same, black or white, to destroy our republic.
There is a very good blog: http://billbotex.blogspot.com/search/label/Socialist%20Party%20USA that laid out this issue and is worth reading.
I'm not certain if the African-American culture is salvageable as is, but I don't see anyone on the horizon who is totally dedicated to its cause to succeed. This group has so many problems, and they appear to get worse, not better, and yet, they keep electing the same people over and over.
Dr. Anne Wortham, Dr. Thomas Sowell, Charles Payne - they could help, but because they are conservatives, the CBC will not listen.trailbeehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06830065132795330618noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6244999628674918029.post-88657706820200852492012-03-06T19:03:04.031-06:002012-03-06T19:03:04.031-06:00Well said, Peter. What disturbs me is that black elected officials here take money that was supposed to be used to help their own community - and the black community from whom the money was stolen keeps electing these crooks to office. Is the bias to elect blacks to office so strong that the black community accepts being a victim of fraud?Peripatetic Engineerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08508035944158746797noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6244999628674918029.post-36624179966072887872012-03-06T06:19:45.906-06:002012-03-06T06:19:45.906-06:00Black society in America is dysfunctional, at near...Black society in America is dysfunctional, at nearly all levels, and it has absolutely nothing to do with skin pigmentation and everything to do with culture.

Aided and abetted by liberals - who often have "well meaning" appended to their descriptions, but whom I believe are actually not that at all - the structure of black families has been destroyed, and the natural economics of family, social and community life, has been abrogated by government's (read: liberals) unwarranted interference.

The result has been a cancer of ethics, responsibility and attitude, starting in the pocketbook and metastasizing throughout all aspects of life.

I'm increasingly concerned that American black society may not be salvageable. The first step, should it want to be salvaged, is for its members to assume responsibility for their own lives and social and economic futures.

That has to begin with leadership, which, to be successful in the endeavor, must come to embrace and advocate those traits and behaviors possessed by competent and responsible humans everywhere.

In our country we have a unique American culture, one that recognizes (or, at least it used to) effort, accomplishment and involvement, with reward commensurate with high levels of achievement in all those traits. There is no such thing as subdivisions of that unique American culture, nor should there be; until that concept is embraced by all we'll stay in this swamp.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
