Sticking anything that could attract a bear out where they can get it is irresponsible of the homeowner. You don't want to bring them close to the house, bad things happen.

I grew up on a farm, and we'd have the occasional bear decide our chickens were there as fast food for them. That may color my thinking a little bit about bears, since those were the chickens we used for eggs and food. Nothing like a critter taking your food to make you think ill of them.Philliphttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12244142931909670053noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6244999628674918029.post-68602770182896132172010-01-27T17:41:56.679-06:002010-01-27T17:41:56.679-06:00If the bear is coming on your porch you are storin...If the bear is coming on your porch you are storing your trash wrong in the first place.

I agree those toddler giggles wouldn't have lasted if the bear made a different choice about the cat.Matthewhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05414687981098467556noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6244999628674918029.post-66567402858240712952010-01-27T12:06:50.706-06:002010-01-27T12:06:50.706-06:00What gets me is the woman laughing at the situatio...What gets me is the woman laughing at the situation. She apparently didn't know how dangerous bears can be. The cat could've ended up as bear food, and that laughter would have turned to screams.

Personally, when a bear has reached the point of coming on your porch, it's time to shoot the bear. If it gets hungry, the glass windows and flimsy doors won't stop it. It also sounded like there was an infant off-camera that would be a handy meal for a hungry bear.

If a bear stays in the woods and away from people, I have no problem with it. But if it's in my yard, it's a threat.Philliphttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12244142931909670053noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6244999628674918029.post-37543481879292436072010-01-27T10:37:02.710-06:002010-01-27T10:37:02.710-06:00Seems cats can hold their own against the bruins.....Seems cats can hold their own against the bruins... http://www.cynical-c.com/archives/bloggraphics/cattreesbear.jpgBlack Icehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05463313457370402499noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6244999628674918029.post-80158903078336479812010-01-27T10:21:55.852-06:002010-01-27T10:21:55.852-06:00Yeah, but the bear still got the spoils---er, garb...Yeah, but the bear still got the spoils---er, garbage bag.Crucishttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15441911110953212619noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6244999628674918029.post-17374170322195038172010-01-27T04:49:54.737-06:002010-01-27T04:49:54.737-06:00That is one lucky cat... he came 'real' cl...That is one lucky cat... he came 'real' close to being a snack...Old NFOhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16404197287935017147noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6244999628674918029.post-1841900134382719672010-01-27T01:34:49.398-06:002010-01-27T01:34:49.398-06:00So...
