Many years ago my Music...Amazing, and interesting. Many years ago my Music Dept. at the university bought a brand new Steinway Concert Grand. It cost a fortune. It is an incredible instrument. Van Cliburn came to our university and "inaugurated/christened" it. It was a very special event. Everyone wanted a piece of this man, and he was charming. Tickets were non-existent, so I offered to work as an usher. :)<br />He played many pieces, but he baptized the grand with Robert Schumann's Widmung (Dedication). It was a night to remember. (I still have my key to that piano.)<br />He was an extraordinary pianist.
