World's 'worst' alarm clock?

This thing'll wake you up whether you like it or not!

  1. I will be buying one of these for my daughter when she goes off to college. She'll need it!

  2. That thing should be banned under the 8th Amendment to the United States Constitution. Yes, I do consider having to wake up early to be cruel and unusual punishment.

  3. Our son could have used this. He ABSOLUTELY COULD NOT GET UP. Only a loving mother would put up with deep, deep sleep. When he moved out, he built himself a gizmo. Then he rented a room and I don't know how he did there. He has never been late for work, which means he found something! I think he was too embarrassed to get fired for being late. :)

  4. This has a really annoying alarm. For some of us it would be a mistake to get it since we have a firearm we can reach from bed.

  5. I had one that sounded just like a fire alarm (not by design, just an acoustical quirk). Never, ever slept through it.

  6. Funny how life moves on like that. When I was in my 20s, I had to rig a couple of alarms so I'd get out of bed (one on the far side of the room that I'd have to get out of bed to turn off).

Now that I'm pushing 60, I find I tend to wake up early and use the clock as the final clue it's time to get out of bed.

I wish I could sleep well enough to need a clock like that.

Well, plus I have a cat who is masterful at waking me up. There is no such thing as a cat with a snooze button.

  7. I had always been told to put the alarm clock somewhere just enough out of reach to make you actually get out of bed. Never had the sleeping in problem once I moved my alarm clock to the other side of the room.

Of course, now--after 4 kids--I don't sleep anyway, so it hardly matters.
