Courtesy of Legal Insurrection, I came across a couple of tweets. Click either image to be taken to the original tweet. First:
I've seen precisely that in many less-well-developed societies over the years, at first hand, and sometimes to my grievous cost. Civilization is a veneer that is only skin-deep for many people. Apply enough pressure, and the veneer peels off.
Think that can't happen here? Think the electricity won't be turned off? If the Greeny Loonies have their way . . .
That's not a bug to them - it's a feature.
Look for this to come to large swaths of America over the next year or two. It's not accidental. It's deliberate. And if it comes for long enough, the society that tolerates Greeny Loonies will become a whole lot less tolerant, and a whole lot more focused on doing whatever it takes to get back to some semblance of normality - tolerance and Greeny Loonies be damned.
I suspect the Greeny Loonies won't like that. (My shocked face. Let me show it to you.) To them, I can only reply in song - or, rather, I'll have Thomas Benjamin Wild Esq. do it for me. (Profanity warning. If foul language upsets you, don't follow that link!)

Your smart meter can restrict or interrupt your electric supply instantaneously. Bad social credit? Sorry, no juice for you, racist.
ReplyDeleteAnd my husband doesn't understand why I want to go back to a basic, unconnected thermostat.
ReplyDeleteJust to check, they are still producing movies and tv shows in California, are they not? I would imagine if the world was literally ending, entertainment should be the first luxury to go. After all, don't we already have enough movies and tv shows to provide trillions of hours of screen gazing time? No! In fact if 2020 showed us anything, it is that Entertainment is the most essential industry we have. Far more important than schools, churches, gyms, restaurants, funerals, etc.
ReplyDeleteYep, the downfall has started in Cali...
ReplyDeletePeople are people are people are people
ReplyDeleteAny inhumanity that people have done in the past they are capable of doing in the future. And there's probably someone, possibly well hidden, doing it in the present.
No lights working? TV won't work? Can't charge your phone? That's the least of your problems.
ReplyDeleteThat water coming out of your faucets will stop flowing. Your toilet will have no water to flush with. No water to cook food. Your dish washer and your clothes washer will no longer work. No gas at the gas station. And you'll be getting thirsty. Real fast.
Pumps, that's why. Your water - and gas at the station - gets to you by the use of pumps. And those pumps have motors that run on electricity.
Just imagine your toilet bowl after a few days of no electricity and no water to flush.
We let these lunatics keep doing what they're doing and you can watch us all go back to the caves. Or what's left of us after a few weeks.
Untold millions will die without electricity. The big cities will reek from the odor of corpses everywhere. But perhaps that's been their plan all along... cut off electricity and save the world.
Everything that has been happening is part of a plan. A plan the commie left has been implementing for decades to destroy the USA so they can replace it with their "communist workers paradise"....the same creed and ideology that murdered well over a hundred million people last century. They plan on increasing that number into the billions.
ReplyDeleteLiving in California does at least have a benefit of decreasing the number of decisions people have to make. The government(s) make many for its citizens, lessening that mental burden.
ReplyDeleteThen, the utilities relieve citizens of the decision of signing up for financial savings as the benefit of signing over thermostat control in their homes. No need to worry. Either way the power will be cut off, taking "control" of the dead thermostat AND giving the citizens/customers financial savings via severely reduced energy consumption. Seems a win-win, no?

Since everything relates to Doctor Who or Star Trek, I’ll put in my 2 cents:
ReplyDelete“Let me tell you something about hewmons [humns], nephew. They're a wonderful, friendly people, as long as their bellies are full and their holosuites are working. But take away their creature comforts, deprive them of food, sleep, sonic showers, put their lives in jeopardy over an extended period of time, and those same friendly, intelligent, wonderful people will become as nasty and violent as the most bloodthirsty Klingon. You don't believe me? Look at those faces. Look in their eyes. You know I'm right, don't you? Well? Aren't you going to say something? "
There are lots of places that veneer is already peeling and splintering off. Like Memphis TN just today.
