No, lie detectors don't detect lies, they detect the discomfort of guilt from the subject because they know they're lying. For a psychopath like these politicians, or reporters for that matter, they think saying so-and-so is a fascist or Hitler isn't a lie, it's a divine revelation so there would be no guilt.
It would be a waste of effort. Those machines will not work on sociopaths - you must have a conscience that will cause physical, measurable changes in a person when lying.
I must concur with a previous poster...."lie detectors" would be totally useless when applied to politicians. Pathological liars are immune to such technology.
