Seeing Winchester white box for about 50 cents a round there. 9mm is available, but ridiculously high.

The small stores are either gouging or pricing at what it will cost to replace stock, depending on who you talk to about the situation.

.30-30 is nowhere to be found around here. I was going to get a few boxes just in case, but don't really need it unless I want to use it for deer hunting next year. Think I'll wait out that particular panic.

.22 is a bit more plentiful than 5.56, but I haven't been buying. Stocked up slowly over the past couple of years after the last rush.

Defensive shotgun ammunition (buck or slugs) is hard to find. Dove and target loads are plentiful and not priced too badly.

When we dropped by a smaller store right after Thanksgiving, the lady there said their supplier was telling them it would take 18 to 24 months to fulfill any new orders of ammunition, and the manufacturers were only making .380, 9mm, .45, 5.56, and .308. If that's true, not going to be much of anything else on the shelves in a few months.DaddyBearhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08279350257789459054noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6244999628674918029.post-74482811404403876622020-12-23T05:49:47.350-06:002020-12-23T05:49:47.350-06:00Here (about 15 to 20 miles due west of Manhattan) ...Here (about 15 to 20 miles due west of Manhattan) I was in the local gun store yesterday to ask an FFL question. The ammo cabinet was open and had some empty spaces. About 2 months ago I checked the price there of 5.56 and they wanted $35 for 50 rds. While I was in there yesterday a guy bought some .22 LR, small boxes (I am guessing 20 rds/box) at $10 each. $0.50 for a .22 is insane but I guess that's what the market commands at the moment. And there was a customer limit of 2 boxes per person, any caliber.

And the place was packed with a waiting line to get in. You get a flat-top with any of various free-floated rails, no FSB; several barrel lengths, calibers, and so on. I'm very pleased with mine, just bought this summer. They're running flat out, and have stopped taking orders until after New year's at least. They provide a lifetime warranty to the original purchaser. I was extremely pleased with my dealings with them.
https://www.radicalfirearms.com/default.asp
Keeping it clean and simple I just added a SIG red dot and two folding backup sights and a sling. They do mail order. Not sure what they are getting for ammo, but a local shop had 9Luger for $25 a box, case for $500.Brianhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02517789242036483994noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6244999628674918029.post-90305099473725715172020-12-22T14:10:54.040-06:002020-12-22T14:10:54.040-06:00My local "favorite" dealer says NO AMMO ...My local "favorite" dealer says NO AMMO without a firearms purchase. Unlike the last ammo crisis, the other calibers are also sold out. Another difference is armor and helmets, haven't seen any locally. Several calibers. I passed on the 9 mm because I have never owned a 9. Now, in perfect 20/20 hindsight I'm wishing I'd bought it all. She probably had 2k rounds of that and I should have taken it off her hands as a "favor" to her. The price was right on all of it but at the time it seemed like a pointless purchase.heresolonghttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00461382067580153600noreply@blogger.com
