The first photo (the aerial view of the fault) appears to show textbook examples of shear and strain fracturing. I just saw, through work, a house today that has had one wing of the house separate from the rest of the house by around a foot and has dropped 6-8 inches, thankfully the elderly residents had their bedrooms at the other end of the house.Unknownhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06354009884949042986noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6244999628674918029.post-29476744273193800562010-11-23T00:16:12.670-06:002010-11-23T00:16:12.670-06:00In the third pic, it appears the fence line and he...In the third pic, it appears the fence line and hedgerow have both been displaced, but the electric poles have been reset.Ritchienoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6244999628674918029.post-48569086575077695712010-11-22T23:50:39.397-06:002010-11-22T23:50:39.397-06:00Looking at that railway line reminded me of the qu...Looking at that railway line reminded me of the quake we had here in Western Australia back in 1968.
It was one of the most powerful we've ever had here in Australia.

A link for info:
http://allshookup.org/swsz/history.htm

Doing a Google image search on 'Meckering Earthquake' will get you quite a few interesting pics.Morrishttp://morrisao.wordpress.comnoreply@blogger.com
