Considering the "quality" of some of the females I met in the Seattle area before I found the right one to marry (not in Seattle, I'll note), I say be happy you have such a wonderful set of choices; get over yourself, be clear of your goals, and make it work. Because, yes, relationships ARE work.Rolfhttp://www.thestarscameback.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6244999628674918029.post-8153415539524028352014-06-02T15:24:25.840-05:002014-06-02T15:24:25.840-05:00That entire article is gold for hilarious schadenf...That entire article is gold for hilarious schadenfreude. Best quote by far is this: ”I am a smart woman. I have a master’s from Berkeley in philosophy. My brain is very abstract, though, the exact opposite of so many men in tech who have very concrete/literal brains. They interpreted information as intelligence. I constantly felt like I wasn’t seen or valued by them, even though I experienced a lot of them as having a very limited view of the world.”

No kidding, programmers don't take someone with a Master's in Philosophy seriously. That's because programmers actually have to produce something for a living, rather than sit around pondering the existential meaning the modern dating scene, or whatever it is that people with Master's degrees in Philosophy do when they're not writing for Salon.

Disclosure: I'm a tech worker at a non-Amazon company the same general area. I *may* have a slight bias. OTOH, I've also been happily married for 12 years, so I can't speak for any first hand experience in the local dating scene.Fly To Your Dreamshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17672663720314040513noreply@blogger.com
