Unfortunately, wife worked in the local Energy Delivery section of the local utility, and is wicked smart. So, 20 minutes into EB she's yelling at the stupid movie like I do about police shows or war stuff.

Don't ever get her started on utility line trimming. Just... don't.

Hollyweird will pick the most controversial and lazy way to portray anything and still screw that up.

As to the media. Well, President Trump's D-Day speech had me in tears. And that was only reading the transcript. To pick on him and not to focus on the events of the week was positively criminal, and sad, so sad. The only good thing was I heard even some local lefties complaining about the coverage. Mayhaps the fauning belief of the Media is finally slipping.

I have never served. Wanted to, but health was just too crappy. I had to learn the other way, living on places that either dealt with the military or on one place where actual battle had happened. Surrounded at all times by people who served and had seen.

Col. William Leverette, the guy behind the fence after my dad got out. Quiet, mild man. Only shot down 7 Stukas in one flight.

Major. Gantt. Another quiet man. Flew the SR-71 and RB-66 (the last over Vietnam for quite a while.)

My 9th grade math teacher, who, shame on me, I can't remember, who was assigned to document the concentration and work camps.

So many more.

Hollywood and the Media just suck.Beanshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15293778848879361153noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6244999628674918029.post-31462148549655209362019-06-08T08:21:03.982-05:002019-06-08T08:21:03.982-05:00My son was in the 2nd ID in Korea. He didn't have to, but he did. He waited for transport with one guy who fell out. Then, after the casualty was safely aboard the ambulance, he caught back up to the group and finished his second one.

He gave me that second buckle. It's a treasure.

https://www.armytimes.com/news/your-army/2015/05/19/2-9-infantry-to-conduct-last-manchu-mile-march-in-korea/STxARhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04588850178293194825noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6244999628674918029.post-41754355524560683592019-06-08T06:43:59.010-05:002019-06-08T06:43:59.010-05:00I can't watch modern war movies. They're ...I can't watch modern war movies. They're both too realistic and too stupid. My wife has to tell me to shut up so she can hear the words.

I can't deal with stories about betrayal, either. For all the same reasons. Some things cut too close to home for comfort.McChuckhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10243337792601085456noreply@blogger.com
