A very useful Web site
I'm delighted to have found the Web site of the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission. On it, they have a sub-site called SCAMwatch. It's packed full of information about scams that crooks, criminals and conmen are trying to put over on consumers, not just in Australia, but all over the world.
It lists many frauds with which I'm sure you're familiar: Nigerian so-called "419" scams, chain letters, pyramid or "Ponzi" schemes, and so on. However, there are several con games listed that I'd never encountered before. If you've been targeted by such con artists, or just want to know more about the wide variety of ways in which crooks are out to separate you from your hard-earned money, it's worth a visit.
