Doofus Of The Day #88
Today's Doofus served as the best man at a wedding recently.
To find out why he's a doofus, watch the video below.
It's interesting. I discussed this clip with a sample of male and female friends. Unanimously, the men roared with laughter. Unanimously, the women were horrified at how the bride's "most important day of her life" was ruined. I guess that shows the difference in the sense of humor between the sexes!
Me, I'd have made sure the participants in the ceremony weren't standing right at the edge of the pool! Talk about an accident waiting to happen . . .
Peter
i also thought it was funny - but i do feel for the bride (hope she was wearing underwear).
ReplyDeleteJulie, never in a thousand years would I have thought of that . . .
ReplyDeleteNothing like getting a baptism right before taking the plunge...
ReplyDeleteAnd for that matter..talk about being too litteral...lol
Before you feel too bad for the Bride, who's idea was it to have the vows done over the pool. Probably hers... (well, maybe her mother's.)
ReplyDeleteMy ol' lady thought it was hysterical...
ReplyDeletehope the wedding was cancelled, groom should have gone in after her
ReplyDeleteGives a whole new meaning to "best man" doesn't it? LOVE your readings/rantings !
ReplyDeleteCall me outlier girl. I thought it was hysterical. I also thought that if it'd been me, I probably would have been laughing by the time I got out of the pool. (Probably because Stingray would have been howling from the moment I got dunked..)
ReplyDeleteUm, ostensibly she chose the setting, and it serves her right for arraying the entire lemon-meringue affair. Weddings should be more simple than that, imho.
ReplyDelete(probably because you've never been a bride, Peter) .... women & weddings can be quite hysterical ...
ReplyDeleteIndeed I haven't, Julie. In fact, may the good Lord preserve me from ever being a bride!
ReplyDelete:-o
Heh, heh, heh...
ReplyDeleteGuys, before you marry your girl, look at how she perceives her friends who get married... If she is happy for them, just in general, that is a good thing. If she acts like they just won the bleepin' lottery, -run away-. Because you're seen as a ticket...
The cost of the dress might also have something to do with the bride's response . . .
ReplyDeleteYou have to wonder about people who think one's wedding day is the "best day of your life." It doesn't seem to say much for the rest of the marriage!
