Ever seen a train hit by a tornado?

No? Well, now's your chance! The action begins about one minute into the video.

Impressive! I hope the crew got out OK.

  1. What really amazes me is how it goes from "I got this" to "I guess not" seemingly instantly, although I'm sure the train was buffeting awfully hard well before then.

  2. Not to complain to you, since it wasn't your video...

But...has anyone heard of "editing"? The process by which you cut out the uninteresting stuff and get right to the meat of the video?

The first 50 seconds, and the last 10 could have been cut, easily.

That said, the "good part" was pretty impressive, certainly.

  3. Dirk, Peter can't edit YouTube videos. Only his own. Peter can only present "as-is".

BTW, I wonder what size was the tornado? A EF2? If that second car hadn't rolled over, the rest wouldn't have happened. Bet it was an empty boxcar. If it had been loaded it might not have tipped over and the rest would have been OK.

  4. From this page, this:

So if you need to add a time tag to your video all you have to do is just append the URL of the video with a “#t=XmYs” where ‘X’ is the minutes and ‘Y’ is the seconds. Suppose you send a URL as http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=test#t=2m10s; your video starts from 2 minutes and 10 seconds. This will really help us to save a lot of time as well as Bandwidth.

Or ungrateful readers can simply click to skip a bit. Or exercise 60 seconds' patience. Ahem.

  5. Nah, not suggesting Peter do anything but keep on sharing the good stuff he runs across. I'm quite grateful for that. Ij ust wish the people who post stuff on YouTube in the first place would do a little editing.

  6. They say that a tornado sounds like an oncoming freight train. If you are already on an oncoming freight train....
