Doofus Of The Day #254

So you want to set a record for jumping a bicycle off a ramp.

You arrange everything . . . a van to tow you towards the ramp at high speed, a strong enough ramp to take your weight and launch you skyward, a bike that won't let you down, and even your friends to cheer you on.

However . . .

It seems you might have forgotten to calculate precisely what height and angle of ramp, and what approach velocity, would be optimum. The video shows the result.

  2. That's an old clip, but I still love it when doofi hurt themselves attempting stupid stunts!

It would have been even funnier if he had landed on the top and then skidded off the other side of the roof, as most flat roofs have loose gravel on top. Unfortunately, though, we wouldn't have been able to see that since there's no camera on that side, so it's best he injured himself by crashing where we could see it!

PS one can only hope doofi like that won't be able to reproduce, especiallky after that sort of an accident!

  3. And he clearly deserves every injury and broken bone that he received. He may succeed at his next attempt for a Darwin Award.

  4. That reminds me of the Yorkie trying to jump on the couch... the rear end never quite makes it. I laugh every time too.

  5. And that children is why that high school physics class was so important.

  6. Every time I see one of these I ask myself the same question: Did anyone actually try to work out the speeds, angles, and distances involved?

EXACTLY what makes these idiots think they will be successful, beyond just a hope, wish, faith in fantasy, or whatever? What thought process do they use to draw the line at not jumping off a 20-story building and trying to fly?
