Remind me not to fly with this pilot . . .
He's got wonderful skills, sure enough, but I'm not sure my stomach could cope with them!
Hmm. If he did some of those stunts inverted, he could cut the grass while he was at it!
That's insane... well at least now we know who to put forward for the role of skippy, should MHI ever be turned into a movie(although for some bizarre reason, when I read the book, I imagined him as Rob Schnieder).
I've seen that video before in a longer form. What you got there is a part from a training movie for new BO105 pilots the german army made. In between it described to the pupils why the BO105 could be flown like that and how they could make use of that.
Those are military maneuvers. Army helo pilots were trained to fly nap-of-the-earth when the Cold War in Europe threatened to go hot. I saw a video once taken in the '80s that was just like this. The difference was that the helo was an Air Cobra armed with TOW missiles.
In the '80s I flew with a Vietnam-era pilot who flew like that on a geophysical job near Golden, Colorado. It was very exciting. I later heard he killed himself and a geologist a year later performing similar crazy maneuvers.
Yes, the deer who hopped out of the tall grass will slide of the skid quite nicely once your wreckage burns out. Wonder if the kids will miss you... bk425

Hmmm. that flying looks familiar... I think I few with him back in the 70's, in a land far far away... AND lived to tell about it :-)
