The idle musings of a former military man, former computer geek, medically retired pastor and now full-time writer. When I bought my HD TV, I got a cable from Best Buy. All the cables in the TV section were overpriced. However, over in the computer section of the same store, they were cheaper.

Monoprice.com is your best friend for all your cable-purchasing needs. Best prices I've found anywhere, comparable quality to everywhere. (For example: I needed a specific USB cable for my phone; it retails for about $30, and I got it from them for under $5 including shipping!)

ReplyDeleteAt that, don't buy anything from Monster Cable, unless you really enjoy being had.
ReplyDeleteAlso, gold-plated connectors are useful for corrosion resistance, but clean bare copper conducts (quite a lot) better, it just oxidizes in air.
