Agree with all of you and big Lol@Stingray .. clever you! Having grown up in SA, and seeign quite a few cat/snake interactions ... that snake looked a little stunned to me ... most would simply sod off the moment they saw a cat ... they wouldn't just lie there waiting to be pounced on ... the exceptions being the mamba family ... both green and black ... on those occasions my poor Dad had to wade in to the fray and remove our kitty (who hunted anything she could get her paws on)
Eh, while I totally agree with LabRat's assessment of the camera operator and snakes, the reality is that the snake is in competition with the cat. Cats eat mice and rats, so do snakes. The cat and the snake did what came naturally to them. That scene would have played out the same whether the guy with the camera was there or not.
The person behind the camera is an ass one way or another, whether the snake was poisonous or not.

If it wasn't- why allow that to happen to a harmless killer of rodents? Nonpoisonous snakes are nothing but a net good to humanity.
