It's enough to make a Marine giggle . . .
One doesn't typically think of a Marine Gunnery Sergeant as a sensitive, caring, delicate sort of fellow . . . but appearances can deceive, as this Geico advertisement, featuring the inimitable R. Lee Ermey, shows us.
R. Lee is an archetypical Marine SNCO, and a favorite of Marines everywhere. To be fair, I work with several Army Sergeants Major who make R. Lee seem fairly soft and cuddly.
I hope to see the female version - an iron-knickered grandmother as polite as Easter brunch in Fargo listening to a 20-30 something woman with a degree in advertizing/interior design who snivels about the difficulty of coping with all the cold-hearted folks who just don't care. . .

ReplyDeleteHe's scarier looking in civilian clothes!
ReplyDelete"Jackwagon" is now on my list of favorite put-downs.

ReplyDeleteWhy do I get the feeling his rant was entirely improvised??? He's fabulous.
