I've no idea where this explosion was filmed, or whether it's for mining or construction purposes. Perhaps a better-informed reader can enlighten us in Comments? Anyway, it's a most impressive bang, so I thought I'd share it with you.
Yep . . . don't want to be anywhere near an explosion that big, thank you very much!

Hoover Dam? That's definitely a construction explosion.
ReplyDeleteIt did almost look like the goal was to dam the river. I've worked around a bit of mining and I have never seen or heard of that volume of material being moved at one time at a mine.
ReplyDeleteOf course if this is somewhere like China or Eastern Europe, God only knows what kind of fun they were having.
I'm with Janeen. That's a lot of kaboom just to expose ore. I've seen video of blasting at a large copper pit mine where they moved that much material, but it was with a bunch of much smaller charges fired in sequence.
ReplyDeleteI wonder if maybe they're just trying to move that hill out of the way.

ReplyDeleteThat's my biggest issue with Snotr, incidentally--unlike YouTube, its uploaders appear to have little to no interest in elaborating on the videos' content.
May be the Rogun Dam construction on the Vakhsh River.
ReplyDeleteHindu Kush, the Russians ???
Run for the hil.... run *from* the hills....
