This is why I'll never buy a new GM vehicle again

Those of you who, like me, respect the rule of law might want to take a tranquilizer before reading on . . .

Warren Meyer, writing at Coyote Blog, draws attention to the latest lie in the General Motors bailout saga - and the damage done by the Obama administration to innocent pensioners.

The Obama administration has abandoned even the pretense of not being in the tank for its union supporters.

First, it took ownership of GM away from secured creditors and gave it to the UAW.

. . .

Finally, comes news that the Obama Administration worked to trash pensions of non-unionized auto workers while protecting pensions of union workers.

There's more at the link. Do, please, follow the last link above, to read how despite its denials, it's become clear that the present Administration deliberately shafted tens of thousands of non-union pensioners in order to safeguard union members' benefits.

Such shenanigans are precisely why I vowed, a couple of years ago, that I'd never again buy another new GM vehicle (or one from Chrysler, for that matter). When the US government runs roughshod over the legal rights of others in order to favor its political constituents, at the expense of the rest of the country . . . enough is enough. I can only hope that enough US consumers join me (and the many others like me) who've had enough, and drive GM and Chrysler into the ground, so that the unions are deprived of the fruits of their selfish schemes. A pox on the lot of them!

  1. I'm with you on this one. My father worked for GM and I supported their product mostly for that reason. Even he said, however, that the unions were getting too much power and he was against the bailouts.

  2. Get real. Do the math.

Union workers vote primarily for Democrats. Non-union (thinking persons) usually don't.

  3. Gee, it would be a real shame if something happened to Obama's presidency in early November 2012.
    Goodbye President Hook and Slice!
And it would be a really big shame if something were to start happening to all the big union bosses just after that, wouldn't it?
    Hello Industrial Organization Reform!
