Advertisements in the days of the Tsars
English Russia has a very interesting selection of print advertisements from the days of the Tsars. They're a fascinating combination of European, Russian and Oriental influences, with flashes of the dawn of the modern age interspersed with long-standing cultural patterns and prejudices.
