More F-15's at work and at play

Last Friday we saw a video clip of USAF F-15 fighters from Kadena AFB, Okinawa, on exercise over and near Guam.  Now comes this video clip of F-15's from the 67th Fighter Squadron at Kadena, which won the Raytheon Trophy last year as the best air superiority squadron in the USAF.  This clip was made over the course of a year, with assistance from other units at Kadena. I highly recommend watching it in full-screen mode.

Congratulations to the 67th Fighter Squadron on its fifth award of the Raytheon Trophy - and thanks to all of its personnel for a great video!

  1. There's only one thing better than a bunch of fighter 'planes doing their 'stuff', but I've still not come across it.
About 35 years ago, my then 13 year old son had to do a 'show and tell' at Junior high school, and as all things aeronautical figured prominently in his life, (and mine), he built a diorama of a 1/48scale Bell P-39 Airacobra, (nick-named 'lead-sled') as flown by The Fighting Cocks, when stationed in New Guinea, during WW11. He got second prize, we were very pleased for him. I told him before he started his project, "I cannot even TOUCH your work as you do it, because it would then not be all your own work", but I provided the odd bit of technical assistance.
The two 'bits' that really drew the eye was his hand-made decal of the Unit Fighting Cock on the stbd open cockpit door of the P-39, and a shoulder patch size decal on the diorama base, with Unit history (to date) set out below.
He put about 8-12 'ish hours, did his best, and it showed. Still now, after a beer or three, he smiles as he remembers that diorama, and I don't blame him!.
It was a very nice piece of modelling!.

  2. Thanks for this Peter. One of my friends here used to load missiles on the F-15's at Kadena, and it brought a smile to his face.

  3. Good video! I 'know' they usually end up in a 'draw' when they go up against the Navy/Marines in the F-18s. Of course the AWACS 'does' give them an advantage! :-)

  4. Peter,
Great find! When that Eagle pilot's gloved left hand advanced the throttles to zone five, every hair along my spine went to full attention. Bad company was appropriate, don't you think?

  5. I enjoy all your videos, especially the flight ones. But, I think this one makes the top of the list. Thank you.
