Speed, style and strength


Gymnast and Olympic gold medalist Epke Zonderland recently put together no less than 24 sequential high-bar release combinations.  What astonishes me is the speed at which he moves, the fact that he sustains that speed for so long without appearing to get tired, and the sheer strength it must require in his hands and arms to carry and control his weight - particularly with the added g-forces of his rotation - through so many repetitions.





Congratulations to Mr. Zonderland on an amazing performance.

  2. Betcha one of those tanned, tattooed, long-arm, over-paid, under-cranial endowed football or basketball dudes couldn't even get off the mat to begin that routine.

  4. What Peter B said -- there's to the original, shorter, still-impressive original in the description of this video, indicating that the "24 release" version is a looped edit of the original. :)
