An amazing photograph of life and death
In its latest 'Pictures Of The Day' collection, the Telegraph published this image of a sparrowhawk taking a sparrow in mid-air in Italy. I've reduced it in size to fit here; to see a larger image, follow the link, and enjoy the other photographs in the gallery while you're there.
I guess the photographer was fortuitously in the ideal position to capture the scene. Talk about being in the right place at the right time!
