A bamboo train???


I've ridden the rails in much of Africa, and I thought I'd seen just about the worst, most ramshackle, most unstable rails, rail cars and locomotives one could imagine.

I was wrong!





How do they stop the local animals (particularly hungry ones) from joining them? That was frequently a problem in Africa!

    Old NFO - perhaps it would lead to an 'interesting' game of 'chicken' - maybe the loser would feed the local tiger population!

    That is bamboo that is the platform they are riding on. That bamboo is tough stuff. Also, this this the example of the end result of the california,(mexafornia actually), high speed rail authority that is coming to the Centrial Valley of california soon.

    It sort of looks like fun to me...
    but the problem of oncoming traffic would be a concern.
