How (not) to use a bore snake

While on the subject of firearms (see previous post), I'm sure many of my readers are familiar with the Boresnake, a cleaning device that's become very popular over the past decade or so.

If you've never used one before . . . don't do it like this!

  1. People do some stupid things - that was one of them. I can just imagine someone else really trying it with Hoppes on the snake and putting it through a hot barrel.

  3. There are even snakes with a handy bore brush attached to their tails. They are easy to find, just walk around in the weeds until you hear one rattle.
