Crosswind landings - the light side


In the past I've posted several video clips of crosswind landings by airliners (follow those 5 links to view them).  They're often pretty spectacular, given the size of the aircraft concerned.

For a change of pace, here's a video clip from New Zealand showing light aircraft landing in crosswind conditions at Tokoroa airfield.  Because they're much smaller, much lighter and have much less power, even a relatively light crosswind can cause them problems.  See for yourself.





Watching landings like those tends to make Miss D. suck in her breath, mutter a few well-chosen piloting phrases to herself (at least, that's what I presume she's saying), and stalk off, frowning darkly . . .
