Welcome to my visitors from Reddit
When I checked Sitemeter earlier today, I was astonished to find that this blog had received over 1,000 visits in a single hour. (I normally get an average of 2,500-3,000 each day, either direct to the blog or via its RSS feed.) At the time of writing I've had 9,227 visitors so far today, and the total should be well over 10,000 by midnight.
The cause of all the traffic is this article I wrote in November 2011 about a very low pass by a South African Air Force Harvard training aircraft (a.k.a. the T-6 Texan to US readers) over troops on a beach. A Reddit user posted one of the pictures to this thread on that site's HistoryPorn sub-forum, and an avalance of visitors resulted.
If any of my Reddit visitors read this, it's nice to have you here. Please come back often!
Peter
