Doofus Of The Day #759

Today's award goes to at least one unnamed Oklahoma state senator.

"Everybody in [the Oklahoma state capitol] building knew who we were," said Wagoner county sheriff Bob Colbert, who, along with 40 other sheriffs from around the state, converged on the capitol as they do every year to meet and greet and lobby. Until...

"One of the senators, who they wouldn't tell us, complained because we were armed in the building," he said.

They were then given a choice, disarm or there's the door.

"So we all packed up and left," he said.

. . .

What's more, he says, maybe if they were worried more about state business then law enforcement officers with guns, Oklahoma would be in better shape.

There's more at the link.

To the senator in question:  If you feel threatened because your own state's senior law enforcement officials are legally armed when visiting you on state business . . . you don't deserve your office.  In fact, you don't deserve a damn thing except an ass-kicking.

Who elected that idiot, anyway?  I thought Oklahomans had more sense.

  2. So the Shreriffs are miffed at being thrown out? Wonder if they remember that saying about geese, ganders, and sauce?

However, I am quite amused that Senator X is afraid of the top cops but not the State Police who wander around his building with guns on their hips.

    "Doofus" indeed!

    stay safe.

  3. I'm thinking they had a taste of how demeaning and disrespectful it is to ask a law abiding citizen to surrender their firearms. Maybe they'll become proactive in Second Amendment rights and tell lawmakers that ignore constitutional rights where to go.

  4. This shows how deep the liberal thought process has infiltrated the general population. So even if the potus is changed every 8 years...we will still have the cancer boiling slowly under the surface.

  5. Most of us DO have more sense than that. I don't know if it'll get anywhere but I'll be sending some emails out shortly. I'd sure like to know who was involved.

  6. Hmm. Something smells fishy here. Like maybe some busybody got their panties in a bunch. Possibly not even a senator, that's just what they claimed.

  7. How does this happen in Oklahoma? Simple, urban vs rural. These attitudes aren't confined to blue states, much as the traditional red states would like to think that. They are dominant in almost any urban or suburban 'bedroom community'. Voting maps by county show it quite nicely.

  8. And cops will still think that *THEY* are the only ones who should be armed.

    Bet on it.

    They are "special"....

  9. Um, senator: the doofi of their day were offed by their own Praetorian Guards. And, believe it or not senator, they had no guns.
