Ereptile dysfunction?

I'm left dumbfounded by this report.

Gator wasn’t on the menu but one did make an appearance inside a Wendy’s just east of Loxahatchee in Royal Palm Beach. And it wasn’t by choice.

. . .

FWC officials say 23-year-old Joshua James pulled up for his order and after a server handed over a drink and turned around James reached into the back of his truck and tossed the 3-and-a-half foot gator through the drive-thru window.

The incident report showed a picture of the gator inside the restaurant.

There's more at the link.

Why?  Why would anyone toss an alligator - even a small one - into a fast food restaurant?

  • Because he wanted a gator burger?
  • To speed up the service?
  • Because the gator was hungry?
  • Because there were too many customers and the servers were swamped?

Your suggestions are welcome in Comments.

  7. Apparently in some circles it's thought clever and amusing to abuse the servers at drive through windows.
I've heard occasions where they will order a large drink then throw it back in the server's face.
I thought the craze had died a well deserved death once businesses started filing assault charges against such practical jokers.

  8. It's the Florida Weirdness Magnet. Sharks on the buses, cars driven into swimming pools, you name it.

I like a lot of the things about living here, but generally speaking any news story that starts with "A Florida man" (or woman) is cringe-worthy at best. I look at the story quietly pleading "please don't be here... please don't be here".

  9. Like SiGraybeard said, another Florida Man story...this one ending with the suspect finding out that just for handling and transporting a gator, you get 2 felony charges in the State of Florida.

  13. Reminds me of the time Little Johnny took his pet alligator (on a leash) into a McDonalds. Little Johnny said, "Do you serve young boys here?" The server answered, "Why, of course we serve young boys!" So Little Johhny said, "Great! I'll have a Big Mac for me, and a young boy for my alligator!"

  15. Yep, just because Florida. It's what you get when the bastard offspring of Texas and California is raised in Alabama by Michigan and New Jersey.

  16. That happened maybe 5 miles from my house. I LOVE my new home. That being said, there's a reason why nice neighborhoods have armed guards here. I'm guessing one of those guys owed meth money.

I used to really work at being a redneck townie in my old hometown in Massachusetts. Here, the rednecks are downright scary.
