Britain's Special Air Service recently provided an object lesson in how to deal with terrorists.
AN elite SAS sniper blew the head off a sick Islamic State (ISIS) commander teaching 20 jihadis how to decapitate prisoners.
. . .
The fearsome recruiter for ISIS ... was gunned down in the middle of a drill teaching new soldiers how to execute prisoners.
Military sources said he was demonstrating a cutting motion with his arm when the bullet hit.
Some 20 junior fighters were taking part in the outdoor lesson when their commander was killed before their eyes.
. . .
Sources say the sniper’s target was an easy mark because he wears white robes instead of the traditional ISIS black.
One military insider said: “One minute he was standing there and the next his head had exploded.
“The commander remained standing upright for a couple of seconds before collapsing and that’s when panic set in.
“We later heard most of the recruits deserted. We got rid of 21 terrorists with one bullet.”
There's more at the link.
There's a certain satisfaction in reading about such dénouements. I think the late, great Jeff Cooper put it rather well.
One bleeding-heart type asked me in a recent interview if I did not agree that 'violence begets violence.' I told him that it is my earnest endeavor to see that it does. I would like very much to ensure — and in some cases I have — that any man who offers violence to his fellow citizen begets a whole lot more in return than he can enjoy.
It seems the SAS subscribe, jointly and severally, to a similar philosophy. Good for them!

ReplyDeleteThe channel 9 Australia link contained this little gem:The 1200-metre pot shot was taken with a Dan .388 rifle armed with special ammunition that tumbles as the high velocity bullet moves through the air, to inflict massive damage on its intended target.

Unfortuantely there is now a very famous set of Solicitors in the UK cold calling ISIS members asking if they want to make a claim for this clearly illigal action.
ReplyDeleteI kid you not over a 1,000 UK Serviceman being sued in the UK under UK law and Human Rights legislation for active service in Iraq and Afghanistan. With one Marine who shot a Taliban Soldier as he was about to launch an RPG at a patrol of his mates being prosecuted because he did not shout a warning first ! The worst part the UK Government washing there hands of defending the soldiers concerned.
No. No. You have got to be kidding me. Please, God tell me you're not serious! If this is true...I...there are no words for how disgusting, despicable and horrifying that is. No *sufficient* words, that is. Holy God almighty...
