Sunday morning music

Let's see how many old farts curmudgeons we have among our readership.  How many of you remember Herman's Hermits?

There's lots more of their music on YouTube.

  1. They kind of came along for the ride during the British invasion. An innocent time and fun tunes.

  8. I preferred their music over that of the 'other' British foursome, whatever was their name? LOL

  9. This hit of theirs was only the chorus of the original, which was done by Harry Champion a long time before that: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gkbE4URVcKY

  11. Just ran a spotlight two weeks ago for Peter Noone and Herman's Hermits. For a 70 year old he gets around very well. The agent for the venue says that Peter calls about every 6 months wanting to book another 'gig'. Great guy.

  12. I realized that I was old when I started singing along with "Listen People" when it was playing on the PA system at the grocery store............

  13. We turned "Henry VIII" into our own version of "99 Bottles of Beer on the Wall" while on the way to various Boy Scout campouts, much to the distress of whatever father was driving us.

"Second verse, same as the first" wasn't enough for us. We kept incrementing.
"Fourth verse, same as the third,
Third verse, same as the second,
Second verse, same as the first!"

On one trip when my dad was just home from a 14-month WESPAC cruise I think we made it to "Fifteenth verse, same as the fourteenth" before being threatened with bodily harm.
