Kaepernick is simply trying to extend his fifteen minutes of fame, and Nike is playing along in order to keep him a hot property and get their money’s worth out of him. I doubt Kaepernick had a shred of a principle. He started kneeling for the Anthem when it became clear that his career was on life support.
