BREAKING NEWS - Pennsylvania House and Senate to take over appointment of electors?

According to Pennsylvania State Senator Doug Mastriano, in an interview with Steve Bannon this morning:

SB:  "You're saying you're going to get a joint resolution to actually go forward - the Republicans control the House and the Senate - to go forward, to basically take the power back from the Secretary of State and put it in the State Legislature to put forward the electors?"

DM:  "That is exactly what we're gonna do.  And so... look... it's gonna obviously be a struggle, we're gonna hear the palpitations and, you know, the outcries of our Governor Wolf and Secretary Boockvar - whose resignation should have happened months ago, and she shouldn't ever have been confirmed - but, you know what, we have that power, and we're gonna take that power back, because there's so much evidence of shenanigans and fraud, and we can't stand aside and just watch this unfold around us here.  You know, it's not about disenfranchising anybody, it's making sure that every legal vote counted and if there is extensive shenanigans out there, it's up to the General Assembly to step in.  So, we have a fight on our hands, and we're gonna fight, we're gonna take this fight all the way to the US Supreme Court if we have to."

You can watch that clip from the interview here.

Like I said earlier this morning:  pass the popcorn!  This is going to put all sorts of partisan cats firmly among the political pigeons.

EDITED TO ADD:  He wasn't joking.  Here's the resolution introduced in the PA State Legislature.

  1. Good! Good!

I was thinking about this fraud of an election. If it is allowed to stand, it is essentially a coup. That means we no longer have a legitimate federal government.

  3. Kurt9, it's been an open coup since the beginning.

I mean, what was it, last week when an ambassador openly crowed about falsifying information he and various generals and other military and state department people were providing the President about troop numbers in Syria and other middle east states?

And then there's the continual firing of Deep State operatives as they are found out. Like General Mattis.

The whole RussiaRussiaRussia thing and the illegal spying was a coup attempt by senior government officials, elected representatives and a host of thousands to screw Trump.

Then there's the 2018 election, which was full of fraud, cheating and just outright fakery in order to shaft Trump. And as a practice for the 2020 elections...

My only fear is that no matter how much evidence and proof is presented, that nothing will be done.

And to those people who say 'Trump should just concede and then run in 2024,' well, first, the Deep Staters will somehow arrest Trump and toss him in prison, along with many of his staff and family. And to the naysayers, I just have to say General Flynn and Paul Manafort (who was arrested and then they figured out what would stick on him.)

Second? Do you think the Dems will allow anyone to challenge them if they take power come January 2021? We saw how much they ignored law and custom starting in 1994, then through Bush's term, then in 2008, then in 2016 during the elections, then after the elections, then in 2018, then in this whole Covidiocracy thing, then in the elections...

  4. Talk is cheap.

Call me when they muster the backbone to actually do something.

  5. May those Northeasterner Pennsylvania Republicans be worthy of their people, though they
"be neer so vile", may they:

May they conduct themselves like men!
"Once more dear friends, into the breach!"
    Stand in the gap!

This time is also a kind of St. Crispian's day:

    "We few, we happy few, we band of brothers;
For he to-day that sheds his blood with me
Shall be my brother; be he neer so vile,
    This day shall gentle his condition;
    And gentlemen in England now-a-bed
Shall think themselves accursd they were not here,
And hold their manhoods cheap whiles any speaks
That fought with us upon Saint Crispin's day."

    1. They are Republican and for now on our side. If they are politicians from NEPA they are likely as corrupt as the Demwits. But for now they are our hope.

  6. @Etaoin Shrdlu: right play, wrong speech. The "half-achieved Harfleur" is far better

How yet resolves the Governor of the town?
This is the latest parle we will admit.
Therefore to our best mercy give yourselves
Or, like to men proud of destruction,
Defy us to our worst. For, as I am a soldier,
A name that in my thoughts becomes me best,
If I begin the batt’ry once again,
I will not leave the half-achieved Harfleur
Till in her ashes she lie burièd.
The gates of mercy shall be all shut up,
And the fleshed soldier, rough and hard of heart,
In liberty of bloody hand, shall range
With conscience wide as hell, mowing like grass
Your fresh fair virgins and your flow’ring infants.
What is it then to me if impious war,
Arrayed in flames like to the prince of fiends,
Do with his smirched complexion all fell feats
    Enlinked to waste and desolation?
What is ’t to me, when you yourselves are cause,
If your pure maidens fall into the hand
    Of hot and forcing violation?
What rein can hold licentious wickedness
When down the hill he holds his fierce career?
We may as bootless spend our vain command
Upon th’ enragèd soldiers in their spoil
As send precepts to the Leviathan
To come ashore. Therefore, you men of Harfleur,
Take pity of your town and of your people
Whiles yet my soldiers are in my command,
Whiles yet the cool and temperate wind of grace
O’erblows the filthy and contagious clouds
Of heady murder, spoil, and villainy.
If not, why, in a moment look to see
The blind and bloody soldier with foul hand
Desire the locks of your shrill-shrieking daughters,
Your fathers taken by the silver beards
And their most reverend heads dashed to the walls,
Your naked infants spitted upon pikes
Whiles the mad mothers with their howls confused
Do break the clouds, as did the wives of Jewry
    At Herod’s bloody-hunting slaughtermen.
What say you? Will you yield and this avoid
Or, guilty in defense, be thus destroyed?

  7. @ Cosda: "If they are politicians from NEPA they are likely as corrupt as the Demwits. But for now they are our hope."

To quote Things To Do In Denver When You're Dead: "When your saviors look like those motherfuckers, you know you've done stepped in it one time too many."

  8. The PA resolution is classic GOP spinelessness. It has no teeth. It "urges" action by our enemies, imploring them to pretty please do the right thing.

This bill is a waste of time and energy. It is nothing but a PR stunt, when we already have all the good will we are ever going to get.

When the SecState says, "No," what will the legislature do then?
