ESG is one of the politically correct buzzwords doing the rounds at present. It's essentially an attempt to force companies to conform to expectations that have no economic justification as such, but seek to force everybody into lock-step with the zeitgeist du jour. I don't think I've every seen it more accurately defined than it is above.
