After my last house, that electrician would be a blessing. Every wire would be in its place. Don't ask me about my last house; after what I found doing repairs and remodeling, I was surprised that it had not burned down.
I bought a 1920's cottage in western NC mountains 20 years ago and almost everything needed to be replaced. I did telecom comms in the Air Force. When I wired the house it looked a lot like that. When the inspector came to sign off on the house getting power he looked at the fuse box and immediately signed off. He told me I had not wired a house but created a work of art.
Be greatful for cable jockeys like the one who did the installation in that first image. If you've ever tried to maintain wiring where the people doing it before you didn't care...well, its a disaster. What matters isn't the additional time it takes to do it right. What matters is all of the time saved during the life of the installation tracing and resolving problems.
We have a house that has the wires coming into the panel arranged a bit similarly. My retired electrician husband took one look at it, cursed and growled about the wires having NO ROOM for changing anything. By the way, the house was built with no permits and lots of beer. Jean
