In recent interviews, Tucker Carlson has come out flat-footed and predicted what I believe will be catastrophic developments for the USA, in terms of both internal politics and external relations. The reaction of the left has been predictable - debunking his "crazy" and "weird" theories, dismissing him as a kook, all the usual stuff. Nevertheless, from my reading of the current situation, I believe he's far more likely to be right than wrong - and that scares the hell out of me.
He predicts that, rather than let Donald Trump win the next election, he will be assassinated if that looks likely.
Not content with that, he predicts that the progressive left will deliberately provoke a war with Russia so that they can assume war powers and thereby prevent any danger of their rule being overthrown in the next election.
I'm afraid I agree with Tucker Carlson on both points. I believe the powers that be, those "gray eminences" behind the Biden administration, are more than willing to commit both crimes if necessary rather than relinquish their hold on power. If they get their hands on war powers, look for the First and Second Amendments to be gutted, with massive nationwide crackdowns on any political opposition and the imposition of a dictatorial regime the like of which has never before been seen in this country - although those of us with foreign experience have seen it all before, over there.
Can this be stopped? Possibly . . . but not certainly. It depends on whether the average American will be willing to stand up and say, "Enough! So far and no further!" Will that happen? That's debatable.

Shades of "It Can't Happen Here" and to think I am an old guy who comes from the area where the story was cast. I will uphold the oath I first made in 1964 for as long as I am on the green side of the grass.
ReplyDeleteSaw the interview and I agree. Actually, I'm surprised it hasn't happened already, but I suppose the timing could work just as well for them if they waited to see how all the court cases go.
ReplyDeleteTo echo what BobF said, my wife and I have been saying for years that we're surprised that we're not getting a replay of the '60s assassinations of JFK and RFK. After all, RFK was running for president at the time, and while I always assumed it was partially to avenge his brother, he was just a candidate and had no real power.
ReplyDeleteWell, Bob,I sure can't argue. I was saying more than a year ago I was surprised they haven't killed him yet. I do believe They have let us know they simply won't let him win. I'm just sure that they cheated in 16. They just didn't dial in Enough cheat to Not Lose. They pulled out All the stops in 20.
ReplyDeleteThose éminences grise had better hope Trump goes to his eternal reward quietly in his sleep. Anything else, and by the next night, the only hope for any remaining Democrat party officials would be if it can be proven that his death was a false-flag operation.
ReplyDeleteIt would not be the first time they've tried such a thing recently. Remember the attempt to murder the Republican baseball team in 2017 by a "Bernie Bro," and the idiot who tried to assassinate Supreme Ct. justice Brett Kavanaugh in 2022 (and who mysteriously had a Glock with him, even though he'd flown in from Calif.).
ReplyDeleteWe live in perilous times.
My money is on neither of these things happening, because Trump is a gift that keeps on giving for Democrats and no one is going to risk getting nuked in exchange for grabbing "emergency powers."
ReplyDeleteSeriously. While the online activists might be stupid enough to do either of those things, the people in charge are not.
I am with Tucker. They killed JFK and they killed RFK. What would stop them from killing Trump ?
ReplyDeleteNothing will stop them attempting - but if they succeeded, what would the people's reaction be?
DeleteWould the powers learn the true meaning if insurrection?
Yes, this is sure on the table.
ReplyDeleteI'm hoping that we can avoid it, because the very moment that they 'unlifed' Mr T, it would be more than just democratic politicians who would be in for the long jump. There are a lot of very angry old and young men who have been paying very close attention to who is doing what in their AOs and would switch in the moment from 'defending the constitution' to 'avenging the constitution'.
And only the gods know how long it would take to recreate a free government.
Mathew Bracken: What I Saw At The Coup
ReplyDeletehttps://www.americanpartisan.org/2020/09/bracken-what-i-saw-at-the-coup/
"This is the first time in many years that I have put pen to paper for a lengthy letter, so please forgive my misspellings, poor handwriting or any other errors. I will probably do this in one go and be finished with it. I won’t need much of this new notebook. It’s a nice room, desk and chair, but really, no computer? I just wish they would stop the hammering outside. I need to focus in order to write well."
"No one person could possibly expect to know the full truth about such a complex history, so near to its time. But I know what I know, saw what I saw, and heard what I heard. And now it’s time to set the record straight, at least about what transpired between some of the key players in the lead up to the recent events."
"What I have heard called “the plan” began as idle office chat, nothing more. (Of course, not much chat is ever truly idle at the very highest levels of power, between senior presidential advisors.) The first time I heard it mentioned was over lunch with Dennis in the White House Mess, down in the basement next to the situation room. We were at a quiet corner table of the wood-paneled dining room, tossing ideas for the next talking points back and forth. Routine."
"One of right-wing hate radio’s loudest and most poisonous voices was conducting an embarrassing public feud with our press secretary. The President had trapped himself in a seeming contradiction. The viral videos were both damning, and, one must admit, very funny—if one’s goal was to make the President look and sound like a liar and a fool. The YouTube videos were getting millions of hits; the TV comics were not letting it go. We had been knocked completely off message, the optics were horrible, and our favorability ratings were collapsing at a crucial moment. (It seems like an ice age ago when such trivialities actually mattered to me.)"
"I said something offhandedly to Dennis. “I just wish we could get rid of those bastards, once and for all.”"
The desire for a hot war next year might explain some of the foot-dragging that has been going on with respect to providing Ukraine with various longer ranged weapons that they have asked for (and for that matter loosening the ROE on the ones already provided). The idea being to keep the conflict going but impose losses on Ukraine so that they need western boots on the ground to help them win
ReplyDeleteIt is possible though that Ukrainian ingenuity will render that moot because it seems like they are making breakthroughs anyway and they have now developed their own long range drones that can attack large parts of Russia. Plus the stuff like the cardboard drone that they have bought (licensed?) from Australia which is almost invisible to radar and can take a 10lb load 70 miles or so. The Ukraine war is transforming warfare by the use of drones on both sides and a lot of the prior assumptions about what you needed (expensive hi tech) seem to be no longer as true as they ere thoguht to be

A book review update -
A while ago I got hold of "Black Boomerang" by Sefton Delmer.
He was the head of UK "Black Ops" propaganda in WW2. From that I learned that there was a first book called "Trail Sinister" which traces his life from birth to the start of the second book. And our library system has produced a copy. I'd suggest start with the first if you take up the read.
His family was Australian and his father was a professor of English at a Berlin university. He was born and started school there so a solid grounding in German (things as well as language). They were in Berlin from the start of WW1 until allowed out to Holland about 1917. He finished schooling in UK and university at Oxford.
Then became a foreign correspondent with the Beaverbrook press. In the course of which he reported in detail on most of the dust-ups in Europe that lead to WW 2 - including eastern Europe and Russia.
Then "Black Boomerang" follows on.
The books were published about 1961 and in them he reviews what was happening post WW2 (particularly in Germany) relative to pre WW2. In his opinion Germany was re-surfacing a fair bit of the worst pre-WW2 features including the German Empire.
His observations on eastern Europe bear considering with what has and is going on there too.
All IMO.
I don’t think they’ll bother assassinating Trump. They don’t need to. What do they have that no one had when the Kennedy assassinations occurred? Voting machines. Easily programmable, hackable voting machines. As far back as Bush Jr. v. Kerry, the guy who ran the Diebold company said bluntly on cable “news” that he would “deliver Ohio for President Bush.” (I lived in Columbus, Ohio’s capitol, at the time.). When citizens weren’t out in the streets the next day, demanding that the voting machines be tossed into the Scioto River, and the Diebold guy in after them, I knew America was all over, and so it has proved to be. It wasn’t that people approved of the guy promising to steal Ohio’s electoral votes. They just didn’t care that much. They didn’t have the time or energy to care that much, and the kleptocracy hadn’t even really tightened its grip yet. I am doubtful that the USA can be restored, though I’d love to be proven wrong. I can see the young finally rebelling at some point, but they’ll probably come up with something other than the Constitution.
ReplyDeleteI've wondered for years how Maxine Waters and her ilk could keep being reelected while the lives of their constituents were, at best economically stagnant. Conditions in their neighborhoods were decaying. Then we see a Pause in the counting and then a jump in the biden votes. But Down Ticket votes, the people who would vote For biden chose to vote Republican for the candidates below. Huhh.. Howboutthatschitt? So it occurred to me that there is a possibility that the votes in those races have been being manipulated. It Is a secret ballot. If you're sick of the game and you decide you are going to vote Republican, you Know you can't tell your friends and co-workers, because they will ruin you. So, how many people in such places have been quietly and possibly in majority numbers been voting against the democrats? But the system is corrupt and they Get the same POS they have had?
ReplyDeleteHow many places do you go to vote and somebody stands over you and watches you vote ? Like those voting places in Philadelphia with the 100% voting for Democrats with the Malcom X people standing in the entrance. No freaking way.
ReplyDeleteIt cannot simultaneously be true that "they" are capable of orchestrating the things that are being done without the consent of the governed, and also be idiotic enough to create a martyr.
ReplyDeleteNo, Trump will be tried for something in a DC federal court and sent to jail for the rest of his life, or, seeing the writing on the wall, he will leave for someplace that doesn't extradite.
There's absolutely no need to kill him.
Assasinate Trump? He's the greatest gift the Democrats have! He's so detested by most of the electorate that he's going to lose again, and probably screw over the GOP in the other races as well. The Donkey Party wants Trump to be the nominee, that's why they are prosecuting him.
ReplyDeleteI don't doubt they'll try it. They have no conscience and will do anything to keep pushing their power grab.
