The "transgender empire"

I'm obliged to reader M. L. S. for sending me the link to a speech by Christopher Rufo at Hillsdale College in September this year.  We've met Mr. Rufo in these pages several times before.  He's a meticulous investigator and authoritative journalist, who isn't afraid to tackle the real issues of the day and expose them.  In his speech, he did just that for the rise of transgenderism and its social acceptance.  Here are a few excerpts.

The sudden and pervasive rise of this movement provokes two questions: where did it come from, and how has it proved so successful? The story goes deeper than most Americans know.

In the late 1980s, a group of academics, including Judith Butler, Gayle Rubin, Sandy Stone, and Susan Stryker, established the disciplines of “queer theory” and “transgender studies.” These academics believed gender to be a “social construct” used to oppress racial and sexual minorities, and they denounced the traditional categories of man and woman as a false binary that was conceived to support the system of “heteronormativity”—i.e., the white, male, heterosexual power structure. This system, they argued, had to be ruthlessly deconstructed. And the best way to achieve this, they argued further, was to promote transgenderism. If men can become women, and women men, they believed, the natural structure of Creation could be toppled.

. . .

Some trans activists even view their movement as the future of Marxism. In a collection of essays titled Transgender Marxism, activist writer Rosa Lee argues that trans people can serve as the new vanguard of the proletariat, promising to abolish heteronormativity in the same way that orthodox Marxism promised to abolish capitalism ... This is the great project of the transgender movement: to abolish the distinctions of man and woman, to transcend the limitations established by God and nature, and to connect the personal struggle of trans individuals to the political struggle to transform society in a radical way.

. . .

According to survey data, up to 80 percent of trans individuals suffer from serious psychopathologies and one-quarter of black trans youth attempt suicide each year. “Gender-affirming care” largely fails to solve these problems, yet the doctors use these failures to justify even more extreme interventions up to the final one: genital reconstruction.

. . .

A less common but more symbolically apt surgery ... is known as “nullification,” in which a smooth, continuous skin covering from the abdomen to the groin is created following a castration or vaginectomy. In other words, the genitalia are replaced by nothing. Nullification surgery is the perfect symbol for the ideology behind the trans movement: the pursuit of the Latin nullum, meaning “nothing”; or the related nihil, the root of the English word “nihilism.” Trans ideology is animated by a profound nihilism that denies human nature and enables barbarism in the name of progress.

There's much more at the link.  Highly recommended reading.

Mr. Rufo hit another one out of the park in his speech, IMHO.  I think it's essential reading if we're to understand what drives the transgender movement in society today.

  1. While Rufo is right about the ideology, I always think "follow the money." It's no accident that pharmaceutical companies and surgeons are all in favor of transgender treatments, including for minors: there are billions to be made in puberty blockers, cross-sex hormones, and surgeries. This is especially true for pharmaceutical companies, since people who transition will need to continue taking cross-sex hormones throughout their lives.

I agree though I'm not certain it's always "follow the money."
There's too much of (I think the word I'm looking for is) self-gratification (patting themsselves on the back) amongst the "educator" classes who (honestly? emotionally-unstably?) believe they're providing the "love and understanding" that their students are not receiving at home.
I'm seeing more and more of this beginning at pre-K levels and proceding on through college; I'm not even considering the very strong peer pressure aspects of this disease/illness.

  3. If you get on Hillsdale's mailing list, they will send you a very nice newsletter every couple of months for free. Of course, they will ask for a donation but that is up to you.

  4. This is a prime example of the 'transference' of anger/hatred/violent impulses I referred to in a comment about Israel/Gaza in the other thread.

It's safe for y'all to spout off about 'Kill them all' (Palestinians of course... nothing more precious upon this sorry globe than the tiniest drop of Chosen blood) and it's most assuredly NOT safe to say the same so explicit thing about those close to home who promote the sexual perversion and mutilation of children. You have to dance around the topic so that you don't cop a SWAT stack or worse.

Think about that. It is emasculating. I don't say this to laugh and mock. I point it out to prompt more self-reflection.

Getting angry about what happens in the Levant is a way of sublimating the humiliation of living as less than a man in a horrid tyranny wearing the skin suit of what was perhaps once something more like a constitutional republic of free men.

But honestly, better to remain silent and *cultivate* indifference to what happens elsewhere. Cultivate because it takes work to avoid the easy way out.. and propagandists are very good at pulling at heartstrings.

Looks around you.... Contemplate daily your subjection. Grow your anger so that one day you will act when the time is right. After all, that is what the JEWS did. Did they spend 2K years kvetching about the politics and misdeeds of Incan Emperors while they wandered the Earth? No #%^&ing way... All they gave a shit about was achieving what was good for THEM in the short term and the long run. And it's kind of worked. Meanwhile how much of your energy is wasted on foreign adventures and emotional highs and lows while every day your local librarian or K1 teacher trannyises another kid?

  5. The only thing I'd disagree with in that excerpt is that 40% of transgenders commit suicide within 5 years of them "transitioning", not 25%.

What other branch of medicine (or indeed, any part of society) would encourage something that produced a 40% death rate?

  6. Will or will not Esteemed blog host permit mention of the fact that *the* major producer of these gender transition drugs is your Greatest Ally Israel? Teva Pharmaceuticals to be precise. So much so that there is considerable tranny spritzing at present about potential supply disruptions while Gaza Smackdown is ongoing and many essential workers have been called up.
