That "Farmers are unnecessary" is one of the dumbest one's I've seen.. but I do pray that it's humor rather than just some moron who actually learned to write....
Sadly about farmers that is how some people think. I farmed for thirty years and I have no doubt that some people have no idea where their food comes from.
I have met many young people (late teens to mid 20s) who truly didn't seem to understand that stores don't create food. I remember at 18 sitting on a lanai in Hawaii eating breakfast. God help me muesli. Talking with about a dozen other 18 year olds and asking did they know where chicken and beef came from. The girl across from me at the round table, in all seriousness, said "the grocery store. " as she finished saying that you could hear a long lowing moo from the hidden butchery about 100 yards away. It was cut off in mid moo by the small sharp crack of a 22 rifle. I just said while pointing across the road. There are tonights hamburgers. I was young and thought it was pretty funny. Farm boy vs city girl mentality (i remember at 5 my dad lifting a steer with the bucket of our tractor and bleeding and butchering on our ranch. It. Just was.. Much later i felt bad for how i did it. She went pale as she realized just then what she had heard and what it meant and lost her breakfast in horror. Its not a internet meme there are more than a few people truly that out of touch. Dont understand how but there are.
The Uber Eats comment is the same mentality that wants everyone to drive an electric car to save the earth, but fights to block new electric power plants. (California anyone?)
