Moving up!

Peter's sounding much better today, and reports he's down in the cardiac care ward now. There was a minor kerfluffle when he arrived without a bracelet. All patients have bracelets that track who they are and their charts - so with no bracelets, he doesn't exist, right?

When I solemnly noted that given laughing, coughing, and sneezing will hurt for a few weeks, so I'm sure none of his friends will try to make him laugh, he spluttered and wheezed for a minute, and predicted you'll be writing jokes just to send.

Then I proceeded to tell him that today my coworkers and I learned airplane-shaped wind spinners are not bearproof, which prompted more laughter with the rest of the story. Oops.

All in all, he's in good spirits, and ready to tackle each day as it comes. In a few days, he hopes to be back online and providing much more entertaining links than my blather as he whiles away the hospital stay.

  1. Hooray!

No, Peter, we'd never try to make you laugh while you're healing. Not us.

Thanks once more, Miss D, for sharing this news with friends, fans and sundry.

  2. WHich is easier to smuggle into a hospital ward: Bombay hot curry powder or salsa? Not that I'd do suck a thing, mind. Merely an intellectual exercise and all that. . .

  3. Just try to get salt smuggled into the cardiac ward, if you're brave enough. If you could get it by the nurses, you could make a killing selling it to the other taste-deprived patients. "Hey, man, I got the stuff here. Shhh you want us to get busted? Yeah, name brand. Morton. What's it worth to you?"

Medical science is magnificent, ain't it?

  9. Miss D: I think you underestimate how important your (so-called) blather has been to an awful lot of people. Thanks for taking the time to keep us in the loop.
