Samuel Clemens, a.k.a. Mark Twain, had a lot to say about dogs, among them these two aphorisms.
The dog is a gentleman; I hope to go to his heaven, not man's.
I think he'd pass Pig in a heartbeat. So would most of us who've owned, known and loved dogs.

ReplyDeleteIt's strange your post arrives today. This afternoon, my sister-in-law is sending her dog to heaven. We're all torn up about the necessity, and will miss a part of the family.
ReplyDeleteDon't forget cats. If there is a heaven and I go there, there will be several cats who will rush up to me. I will break down crying. They will acknowledge my existence (barely) and immediately start making demands. :-)
