Readers will recall that the "Second City Cop" blog in Chicago had to shut down two and a half years ago, after it became clear that the Powers That Be were after the authors' hides and might be about to penetrate their shield of anonymity. I wrote about it at the time.
There's good news. They're back - and their reports are as penetrating and acerbic as ever.
Click over there and read their new entries, and bookmark their blog. It's one of the best sources you'll find on crime and (usually corrupt) politics in Chicago, and for that matter on crime in every major American city, because what happens in Chicago mirrors what's going on in New York, or Baltimore, or Philadelphia, or even West Coast hellholes.
Welcome back to the blogosphere, guys!
Peter
Thanks for the information! On another matter, any news on the next Maxwell book?
ReplyDeleteGood view of what makes Chicago bleed. Welcome back!
ReplyDeleteThanx.
Good for them!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the notice that Second City Cop is back. It was one of my daily reads that showed that Seattle was not as bad as Chicago. Now I'm not so sure.
ReplyDeleteA useable quote - Goes for others too (IMO)
ReplyDelete“The British journalist according to Humbert Wolfe
You cannot hope
to bribe or twist,
thank God! the
British journalist.
But, seeing what
the man will do
unbribed, there’s
no occasion to.”
