Some readers might not be familiar with the Discovery Channel program, 'Sons Of Guns'. Wikipedia describes it as follows: "The series centers on owners Will Hayden and his daughter Stephanie who manufacture and sell custom weapons at Red Jacket Firearms LLC."
A recent episode was called The Flamethrower. It told the story of a World War II Marine, Hershel W. Williams, who won the Medal of Honor on Iwo Jima in 1945 for his use of a flamethrower during the battle to conquer that island. Here's an interview with retired Chief Warrant Officer Williams about his exploits.
Will Hayden met CWO Williams in a New Orleans museum. (You can see a video clip of their meeting here.) He discovered that the veteran owned a World War II flamethrower that was no longer in working order. To make a long story short, Hayden restored it to operational condition. When the time came to test it, there was no question who would pull the trigger!
Well done, Sir!

Seven pillboxes in four hours without a scratch. A perfect example of the unknowable lottery of the battlefield.
And bless his heart, he's as a sharp as a tack.
Yep, he'd definitely done that before... And Nebris is EXACTLY right! God Bless him for surviving!
Thank God for men like these that serve our country.
