That's one way to get upriver!
I was amazed to find this video clip of a barge on a Vietnamese river - with a unique means of propulsion.
I wonder whether rust caused by deliberate immersion of an excavator is covered under the manufacturer's warranty?

Rust shouldn't be too bad as long as they grease it every once in a while. They are gonna take out the swing motor eventually though.

Yep, THAT is a bit different!
I saw the same thing on the show about gold mining on the Bering Sea running on Nat Geo or Discovery or something. And it was a MUCH bigger excavator.
