I can't tell you how many times over the decades that I've picked up a soldering pencil like that. Or a woodburning pencil when I was a little kid........

Last one scares me. Obviously, the soldering iron wasn't even warmed up. Is this NASA's idea of STEM advertisement or DEI gone wild?

At my first job after graduating college, I was given a test that is normally given to new technicians since they didn't have one for engineers. I suggested that the final question would be to hand a soldering iron to the new hire. If they grabbed the metal end, they were an engineer.

On the other hand (!) I've been in an electronic production photo shoot. Nothing (big reveal) is real. Quite possibly the model was nabbed from HR and never saw a soldering implement before.
