Maybe they got away without killing anyone there, but it could likely have been worse if that load had been further in the air when the ground gave way.

Oh my! I think they need another crane!
Crane accidents are often fatal - we don't see the conclusion, but it looks like they probably got lucky.
In the immortal words of Jeremy Clarkson:
"That's not gone well!"
